11 Reasons I Love The GroVia Hybrid Diaper!

 GroVia Hybrid Review – Overview

1. The Quality, everything about GroVia diapers screams QUALITY! Grover Hybrids are one of the best made and well thought-out cloth diapers I have come across so far.

2. The Waterproof shells. The shell is made from a degradable TPU rather than PUL which most of your cloth diapers are made from. Some babies are allergic to PUL so using GroVia diapers are a great alternative.

3. GroVia hybrid diapers can actually double as swim diapers! I thought this was kind of awesome because I don’t have to purchase additional swim diapers. What a money saver!

4. GroVia always tries to improve their products. They take advice from their customers and make adjustments when necessary. I think this is one of the reasons GroVia has done so well in today’s market. They always seem to set the bar high!

5. Organic & IMO Certified. GroVia diapers take going green to a whole new level by having some of their soakers certified as organic.  That means no chemicals are used to grow the cotton and degradable materials are used (which help to break down the TPU when you have discarded the shells.) Cloth diapers are a great way to help the environment but if you purchase organic and degradable materials, you help even more. That makes GroVia Hybrids a Win Win in my book!

6. The Fit! GroVia diapers in general are seriously some of the trimmest ONE SIZED diapers I have come across. That is one of the reason I love using them so much!

7. Snaps & Velcro Options!  GroVia diapers have fantastic snap and velcro (alpix) options. The snaps are very durable, easy to use, and prevent wing droop. They also can cross-over so that you can fit a smaller wasted baby. The velcro is super durable and comes with tabs to hold in place in the washing machine. The velcro does to tend to wear out over time so I do prefer the snaps.

8. The size range! This cloth diaper can fit your baby from around 8 to 35 pounds. That will generally get you through potty-training. This is fantastic because you don’t have to purchase different sizes sense it grows with your baby by simply adjusting the rise. This diaper is what is known as a one size cloth diaper (OS). 9. Fashionable! GroVia diapers in general have great style and look sleek. I love how the snaps and velcro are the same color as the diaper or at least a complimentary color. They have cute and fashionable prints to choose from along with beautiful solid options.

10. The Soaker Options! GroVia Hybrid diapers have an amazing selection of soakers to choose from. They have three different types of cloth soakers that snap-in and a TPU lining that keeps the shells a little more dry so you can re-use them. They also offer disposable soakers that you peel the back and stick to the shell. These are great for traveling and don’t have all of the nasty chemicals that regular disposable diapers have!

11. Versatility! GroVia hybrid shells can work with almost any type of soaker, insert, fitted diaper, prefold, or flat. They are a trim fitting diaper so make sure to use a trimmer fitted cloth diaper with these types of shells.

Disadvantages Of The GroVia Hybrid Diaper

As much as I love the GroVia hybrid diaper there are a few things that I don’t like about them. The soakers take a long time to dry, I usually have to turn them inside out to get completely dry. They are hard to spray runny poo out of since they are in layers and the hemp soakers seem to trap odors. I prefer the organic cotton soakers the best because they don’t trap smells like the hemp versions do. I also find that they need to be stripped a little more often than my other diapers. With this being said, I still love my GroVia soakers because they absorb very well, are trim, and they snap into my diaper shells really easy.

Boingos

The velcro tends to wear out overtime as I mentioned earlier but it’s really strong and easy to use at first. I would suggest going with the snaps but it is nice to have at least a couple velcro diapers for easy and quick changes. My husband came up with a cool trick, he started using Boingo diaper fasteners over the worn out velcro to keep it from coming undone. I thought that was pretty genius!
